A new federal review cycle has put compounded peptides back in the center of pharmacy, telehealth, and research-supply discussions.
On February 27, RFK Jr. publicly pushed for renewed FDA attention on peptide access and compounding policy.
On April 23, the FDA removed 12 peptides from the Category 2 list pending review by the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee.
The next decisive date is July 23-24, when PCAC is expected to review the compounds and make recommendations.
For buyers: verify legal status, avoid vendors making disease-treatment claims, preserve receipts and lot documentation.
For compounders and clinicians: the review creates a documentation burden - formulation rationale, adverse-event monitoring, quality controls.
The Peptide Wiki will continue tracking the affected compounds, source documents, and vendor availability changes.
